Kids Milestones

I have never been very good about recording the kids milestones. I totally forget to write down when there first step was and what their first word was. So I thought that I would take the time to at least write down what they are doing now.

Hailey: 21 months

Likes: balls, dolls, strollers, our dog Lucy, suckers, Popsicles, fruit snacks teasing her brother and sisters, bananas, and mom. She loves to pick out her own clothes and shoes.

Dislikes: hugs or kisses(although she is getting a little better about giving and receiving these), veggies, being left alone, naps, being told no

Can say: I don't know, wanna go, NO, More, Yes, Lucy, Daddy, and if I beg or she is hurt Mom, Dallin, Vannah, football, Leash, Ski, Please, see (although these last four all sound the same). She has a hard time saying her constants so her words are pretty funny.

Hailey is such a red head personality. She is stubborn and fiery when she doesn't get her way. She loves to play and laugh with her brother, but she also drives him crazy. She is a total momma's girl, which can drive me nuts but at the same time I love. She is extremely shy and takes a long time to warm up to people, but once she does she is your best friend. There is a male nursery leader who she has become quite fond of. If he ever has to leave she cries, so he has started taking her with him. She loves babies and friends and always wants to play with everyone.

Dallin: 4 years

Likes: Transformers, Batman, New school clothes (he has wear his new outfit at least once a week), cartoons, building things with blocks, dominoes, puzzles, music, pb&j (he would eat them everyday), veggies, singing, playing with friends, sports of any kind, his sisters

dislikes: showers, naps, mushrooms, saying goodbye, missing a party, being told he is too little, Hailey trying to play with his toys while he is.

Can say: Dallin can say anything and everything except his ls. So little becomes yitto and long becomes yong. I have to say I think it is so cute and am going to be a little sad when he no longer says "can't I stay up just a yitto yonger?"

Dallin is my sweetheart. He loves to snuggle and gets in bed with me every morning. He is very tender hearted and hates to hurt people. He takes really good care of his little sister. He loves to play pretend and will have whole conversations with his batman or transformers. He is a normal boy that loves to run, jump, hit, throw, and wrestle.

Savannah: 6.5 years

Likes: first grade, her friends, clothes and shoes, playing dressing up, helping mom cook, being the big sis, cartoons, Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, skiing, soccer, riding her bike and scooter, monkey bars (I never could do those, but she is a pro).

Dislikes: cleaning her room, being the big sis, mushrooms, sandwiches,

Savannah is such a great sister. She minds me so well and always takes care of Dallin and Hailey even when she doesn't want to. She is learning to read and can read almost everything. She loves her friends and is so tenderhearted with them. She has a great memory and recalls the most random things that I can't remember.

I love that I can think of way more likes than dislikes for my kids. I think they are so wonderful and they put up with their crazy mom. I am reminded daily of the unconditional love of Christ and how we should be like children. I am grateful for my kids and their love.

  1. What a great post...good idea to do that on occasion. I loved reading them -- we miss you and your kids a lot. Brett was excited to see their pictures.
