Four times the fun

We had such a great weekend to celebrate the Fourth of July. We love the Fourth so much we started celebrating it on the Second in Hyrum, UT. We joined Steph and family at her MIL's house for a BBQ then headed to the park so the kids could play. After that we headed back to light some fireworks and then watch the big ones. I was a little nervous about Hailey, but she loved the fireworks. She would oooh and aaahh and then clap her hands. She was so Cute.

On the Third we headed to Romney Stadium for the Logan city fireworks. Hailey started the night off with a bang, by falling down the stairs when Justin and I weren't watching. I think I won parent of the year with that move. She ended up with a black eye, goose egg and several scratches. Ooops. She settled down after a while and only seemed bothered by her injuries when I would try to put ice on them.

I love the Logan City fireworks. I love going into the stadium and hearing the local bands and see them present all the county queens and and the cheesy stuff that they do. When we lived out of Utah it was one of the things I missed the most. Fireworks West in located in Logan, UT so they always do a really great show for the hometown crowd. I love how well they coordinate the music and the fireworks. I know that there are probably bigger shows other places, but for me these are the best.

Finally the Fourth, we started off the morning with the Larsens at a Pancake Breakfast. It was so yummy, I ate way too much. The kids had a blast playing in the Scouts canoes and running around. After that we headed to Hyrum for the parade. It was slightly overcast which made it bearable. The kids had a great time getting candy. Dallin is so funny, because he would be so busy waving that by time he got looking for the candy, the other kids had picked it all up.

We finished out the Fourth by lighting our own fireworks at the Larsen's after a yummy dinner and homemade ice cream. The kids loved the sparklers and we quickly went through 12 boxes of them.

I am so grateful for this great nation that we live in. After going to Australia, which is a fairly civilized country, I realized how wonderful it is to be here. We are so blessed and no matter how bad we think things are we will get through them. I believe that good leaders will step up and lead us through this time. I love America and will be forever grateful for all the sacrifices made for it.

  1. Hailey's eye made me hurt just looking at it. Looks like you had fun! Can't wait until you all come out here.
