Happy New Year

Okay I have to admit that New Years is not my favorite holiday. It seems like you do a lot of waiting around to yell "Happy New Year" and then it is over. This year we were invited to a party with some of Justin's high school buddies at the Thomson cabin at Bear Lake. This is a great group of guys with greater wives. They are really fun to hang out with.

The party started out with a bunch of the gang hitting the slopes at Beaver Mountain.

Then continued at the Cabin after a beautiful day. We had a lot of fun at the cabin, without the kiddos. We ate yummy stir-fry for dinner and then tons of snacks. We played lots of games and laughed out heads off. Of course at midnight there were plenty of noisemakers and hats to go around. After midnight Brady dug out some old fireworks and all the men turned into boys setting them off.

I had to retire early, about 1:00 am. Most of the rest of the group stayed up until 3:30 or 4:00 am.

The next day we woke up late and enjoyed a yummy crepe breakfast before we headed home.

We had to take advantage of the great views from the cabin and also the lookout point on our way out. Bear Lake is a winter wonderland.

Thanks tons to Brady and Holly for hosting a great celebration. I hope we will be able to do it again someday.

  1. How fun! Sounds like a tradition in the making. I agree without something like that it is kind of a let down. I wish we had some fun friend event to look forward to every New Year's also.
