Pear Custard Pie

I discovered one of my favorite new treats this year.  This is light and refreshing and perfect for fall.  Enjoy!

Pear Custard Pie- Martha Stewart
1/4 C unsalted butter melted, plus more for pie dish
3 ripe but firm comice or Bartlett pears, peeled, halved, and cored *
1/3 C Granulated Sugar
1/3 C all-purpose flour
2 t Vanilla
3 large eggs
3/4 C milk
1/4 t salt

confectioners' sugar for dusting.

1-preheat the oven to 350 F.  Butter a 9 inch pie dish.  Slice the pears 1/4 inch think lengthwise.  Arrange the slices, overlapping slightly in dish.

2- In a blender, process the melted butter, sugar, flour, vanilla, eggs, mild and salt until smooth.

3- Pour the batter over the pears;  bake until golden and firm to the touch, 40 to 45 mins. Serve warm or at room temp, dusted with confectioners' sugar.

* I didn't use Bartlett pears, I used what I had and they were delish.
