Well we finally did it. We braved stake Conference with all three kids. It went pretty well, although we got off to a rough start. Dallin dropped his sippy cup and it rolled several aisles up and then he yelled " my gink my gink I lost my gink" as loud as he could during the opening prayer. That's right my kids know how to get a captive audience. It was a very good meeting though and I took enough snacks that Justin and I were actually able to listen a little bit. I am glad that we went. One of the speakers spoke about being the chosen generation and whether we are prepared to be chosen. Choose to be chosen what a great motto. We have to prepare ourselves and be ready to be a servant of the Lord.
So that got the fires burning within the burning without was the hill just east of our house. We came home from Logan last night and could see smoke all the way in Brigham City. We had no idea the fire was so close. By time we got home it had burned a large portion of the mountain but was not done. We sat out on our front porch and watched the flames shoot up for several hours. Even some of the neighbors joined us. It was still burning this morning but they had protected several homes and were able to direct the fire up the hill. It looks like they are getting it under control but it is still smoky. Watching the big planes drop the retardent and the hellicopters drop the water was amazing. They have to fly so slow and low to hit their mark, it was so cool to see. You never realize the size of the planes or how much is involved in trying to fight a fire.
