Sad day for some

We had a sad experience while we were Skiing last weekend. We had just gotten off the face lift when we heard a helicopter overhead. We looked up and realized that it was a life flight helicopter and it was trying to land on the mountain. Rumors spread quickly and it was soon determined that a girl of unknown age hit a tree. After we figured out that Savannah would have been now where near where that accident occurred, I was crushed. We hoped that she was okay, and watched the helicopter land. About 20 minutes later it took off again, not a good sign. We found when we got back down the mountain that somebody had been killed. We weren't able to find out any of the details until we got back into Logan. Apparently a 15 year old girl skiing through the trees and got distracted and hit a tree at full speed. Although she was wearing a helmet she was killed almost instantly. I was so sad to hear this. The parents were on the hill, though not with her at the time. I am sure that they were heart broken. It was just a reminder to me that know matter how comfortable we are doing something, we have to use caution. I think we all skied a little more carefully that day.
