On Weds. night our fire house had their annual open house. This year they had a food drive and if you brought in a can of food you got to go for a ride on the fire engine. It was so fun. We piled in with our friends the Peterson's. Savannah and I got to sit in front, so Savannah got to sound the siren. The kids all all thought it was pretty cool.
They also had a simulated fire sit up, to help teach the kids what to do in a fire. They filled part of the station with smoke, dressed the kids up and then led them through a obstacle course. The firemen were so cute with the kids. I totally appreciate the effort they put into this night to make sure our kids are educated. After eating some yummy scones and ice cream we checked out the helicopter and then headed home. Thanks to the Farmington Firemen and women for a great night.
Cute pictures. My kids love this event. I love it too because it's a tradition for Brennan to take them :)
ReplyDeleteHow cool! Love the pictures of the kids all dressed up...they look so big!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I wish they did something like that around here.
ReplyDeleteThat sound like so much fun. What a great idea. We have a friend that is a policeman so he took us to see the firetrucks but the kids didn't get to sound the siren.
