Let the Parties begin

On December 20 we began our party season. Actually it was supposed to start on the 19th with a visit to This is the Place Park, but snowy weather prevented that. I guess Justin and his family did start it that day with a great day at the Canyons. This is a tradition that we do every year. It starts with a visit to the newest Warren Miller Movie in Oct. We have to see the movie to get the free passes to the Canyons. Then everyone that is in town hit the slopes sometime in Dec. It is a great day, that I was bummed to miss out on this year.

On Sat. Justin's family joined my family for a party for Hailey's birthday. We ate, and opened presents, had birthday cake, and then headed to Temple Square to see the lights. Actually only Mauri and her kids went with us to see the lights, the rest of J's family had to head back to Logan.

The lights were wonderful as usual. It was very cold, but the kids were all thoroughly amazed. I love to go to Temple square, it is one of the highlights of my celebration. The kids did really good, but eventually succumbed to the cold, forcing us to leave. All the kids loved looking at the reflecting pool with the bubble lights and the beautiful white nativity in it. This is Dallin and his cute cousin Ty. They are only 10 days apart and have a great time together. This is one of my favorite spots at Temple Square. I love walking through the 'tunnel' of golden lights, it is so magical.
