Disneyland Day 2

Because we were staying at the DLH we were able to take advantage of the Magic Mornings at Disneyland.  If you buy a 3 day or more pass you get one of these, but when you stay at the hotel you get extra magic mornings.  We were taking advantage of them all and were up at what felt like the crack of dawn to hit the park.  Of course it could be because I woke up at 5:30 am with my mind racing.  I was so excited for that day and I couldn't wait to get going.  I don't know what Dallin was doing but you can see the large bags under his eyes.  I think the kids thought their mother was slightly crazy.

We had to stop for a quick picture under the Sorcerer's Hat in front of the DLH.  This is right at the entry into Downtown Disney.  Downtown Disney is a shopping mall that Disney has built so you never really have to leave the Disney magic.  It has lots of fun shops the kids loved to look at these cute figures each day as we walked past.  By the end of the trip Ian was quite obsessed with Huey, Dewey and Louie in this picture.

While we were waiting for security to open we had some fun.  Ian is practicing say Mickey Mouse.
BTW did you notice the gold ears the kids have on?  Justin picked those up in Las Vegas for $1.00 a pair.  I wasn't to sure about them, but the kids loved them.  Most of them were worn everyday.  They were so easy to spot in the crowd.  We got so many compliments on them and one lady even offered to buy my niece's.

These darling pumpkins were waiting to great us as we went trough the ticket booths into Disneyland.  I love these pumpkins and might have figure out how to get the smaller version of them at our house next year.

I love magic mornings.  We were able to do five rides in 36 mins.  We hit Dumbo, Mr. Toad, Pinocchio, Snow White, and the Carousel.

By time the parks opened for everyone at 9:00 we had been on Nemo and had our first fast passes of the day for Star Tours.  We were joined by my sisters and their families and my mom.

Mic was already tired.

Thank heaven for my mom and sister who took my kids on the tea cups.  This
ride makes me sooo sick.

Fun on Splash Mountain

Haunted Mansion all done up

We met Mickey all dressed up in his Halloween costume.

The white rabbit was late and only had time for
a quick picture.
Minnie was dressed up too.

We took a break in the middle of the day to head back to the DLH for swimming.  On our way we stopped at the Jazz Kitchen to try out their Beignets.

Oh, I was in heaven.  If you have never had this before they are french donuts.  They fry them up and then throw them in a paper bad with a scoop of powdered sugar.  You shake them up to coat them.  They are Divine!  In fact now that I have sat here describing them I am totally craving them.  Luckily I bought a mix so I can make them.  Thanks Brandi for the recommendation.

In the lobby of the Frontier tower they had a scale model of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.  It was cool to see just how big that ride really is.  I think that BTMRR was our family's favorite ride.

This tree was so fun.  All the orange lights and pumpkins hanging from it.  It is done by a designer every year for Halloween.

Leaving the park day one
As you can see we were quite worn out after the first day.  We packed in as much excitement as we could  and still had so much to do.  Good thing it is only the beginning of the week.
