We ended up leaving on Saturday and driving to Las Vegas to break up the trip. We didn't tell the kids that we were leaving early, thank heavens they are not very observant. We all went to pick Savannah up from a birthday party and asked if we should leave right then. Of course the answer was a rousing YES!
I am not opposed to bribing my kids and have been known to pay them for being good in the car. This time we decided that instead of money we would give them Disney trading pins for each hour they were good. This worked great. They got lots of fun pins to trade at Disneyland and I got a pretty peaceful car ride.

Just a beautiful view along the trip. Can you see the sun dog?

We arrived in Anaheim on Sunday morning and headed directly to our hotel. On the way we saw these two fun sites. I honestly don't know who was more excited, me or the kids. We got to the hotel and announced to the kids that we were staying two nights at the Disneyland Hotel. I think there was much screaming from everyone. Justin went in to get checked in while I waited out from with the kids. Ian immediately spotted the mickey on top of the lamp post and had to show everyone.

Thanks to some amazing Disney magic we ended up in the most fabulous room. They didn't have the room we wanted available so they upgraded us to a twelfth floor suite overlooking the park so we could watch the fireworks.

Hailey immediately set her animals up on the bed.
The DLH has so many touches of Mickey through out. I took a few pictures of the details, but honestly I think I was so caught up in the moment I forgot to get them all.

view of the pools from our room. Pardon the blue tint from the windows.
Ian just went round and round again on these little slides. Hailey loved these little ones too and after a little convincing I was able to get her on the big slides.
After the pool we got our selves ready for bed and sat at the window and watched the fireworks at Disneyland. It was so magical. After the fireworks we put the kids to bed to watch these fireworks. That's right the already amazing head board had fiber optic lights in it. When it is daylight you cannot see these lights at all. You can barely feel them if you rub your hands on them. But when you turn out the lights and flip the magic switch on the bedside lamp magic begins. It starts playing 'A dream in a wish your heart makes' and then the lights turn on. For two blissful nights our children fell asleep with magical Disney stars twinkling above them.
