What does the word "joy" mean to you? Does it play a part in the holidays?
To me "joy" means a feeling a peace, a feeling that just for a moment all is right with the world. Of course is plays a part in the holidays. It is a feeling I get whenever Hailey asks me if it is still Christmas time. Which she asks 3 or 4 times a day. It is the feeling I get when my kids look for and then find Mr. Peeps. It is the feeling I get every time I pull in to the drive and see my beautiful house all decked out for Christmas.
Photo Assignment: Take a photo that represents the idea of "joy".
Remember: Think back to a time of holiday joy in your life. Where were you? Who was there?
I am lucky enough that all my holidays were filled with joy. As I have gotten older, my memories have faded, but there are still a lot that stick out. The one that I keep remembering today is the one when my dad gave my mom a ring. He wrapped it in tons of boxes, starting out with a refrigerator box. I remember laughing so hard as she unwrapped each box, only to find another one inside. As the end was a beautiful ring with 16 diamonds on it, one for each year of their marriage.
