Talk about a sentimental piece of holiday decor.
I love this nativity. I have always loved this nativity. My mom has the same one and I remember getting it out when I was a little girl. Digging each piece out of the box and carefully placing it on the piano, or mantel. I would always save baby Jesus for last. I loved holding him and placing him in his cozy straw bed. The people and animals all seems to have a reverent look of awe on their faces. I love that because that is how I feel when I look at it and think about the impact Jesus birth has made on my life. My nativity has even more memories for me. Not only does it remind me of my childhood, but it reminds me of my husbands love. He painted this for me our first year of marriage. I don't think that he understood my obsession with it, but he still surprised me with it.

When I was a kid we used to take down anything 'normal' and cover every surface in Christmas decorations. Something I do today also.
