Describe some of your favorite holiday foods.
Mmmm, this post is making me hungry. Holidays and food seem to go hand in hand for me. I love making and eating all the special things that go with this time of year. Smoked turkey breast, funeral potatoes, shrimp salad all make my list for a yummy holiday dinner. There is also shrimp dip with triscuts and pies and pumpkin rolls. I love having an easy breakfast on Christmas day. We usually have monkey bread and fruit.

I will have to wait until I actually cook some of these things to get a picture on here.
Remember: What foods are present in many of your childhood memories? Why do you think holiday foods are so important to our celebrations?
I can remember eating shrimp salad at my grandma Meikle's house on many Christmas eve. I remember my mom making shrimp dip every year for the holidays. I think food is important, because we are all getting together and have to eat. So we pull out all the stops to make it memorable for all. We all want to feel full, secure and happy for the holidays.
I've been reading your posts, and they are fun! What a great idea to focus your thoughts about the holiday season! Plus it's a great "journal" for someone to read later in life.
